Last weekend I photographed the Civil Partnership of Jason & Richard at the wonderful Pontlands Park near Chelmsford, Essex.
I first met Richard & Jason over a year ago where I found out all about how they had originally met, the plans for their big day and also what they were looking for in the photography.
On the day itself I arrived a couple of hours before the ceremony to capture themselves and their best men getting ready for the day ahead. The ceremony itself is fairly similar to a civil ceremony in that they make their vows and make a life long commitment to each other but instead of signing a register a certificate is signed instead. Richard’s sister Kelly Silver had flown in from the States with her two beautiful young daughters all they sang a wonderful song to them during the service.
The speeches given by the two best men, Ian & Daryn, were hilarious but also contained a lot of thoughtful words of love, support and friendship.
So, what was the highlight of the day? Well the thing that I’ll always remember is the 1st dance, or should I say the boy band dance routine of Richard, Jason, Daryn and Ian. Step asside Take That the new boys are in town.
Here are a selection of photographs from the day.
